Packaging for USB Lava Lamp

This is my designs i did for the USB Lava Lamp. I really like the end design where the photoshopped lava blob goes behind the logo. The gradient of the lava will work nice with the light blue stock i have for the other part of the packaging.

Packaging for the flameless candle

Again nice and simple designs used for the flameless candle.
i didn't talk about how i worded the products but i am using the company name as a replacement for relaxing in the products so it seems like it more than just a relaxing product its a "relaxinc".
it gives familiarity to the brand name and make the name of the company almost useable in a sentence it makes it seen like a real word seeing it in context.

Grow your own packaging ideas

Here are my designs for the packaging "grow your own"
I am using a white background as i want to keep my colours to a minimal and i feel white works nicely with the blue.
i like the simplicity of the designs. i didn't want to overcrowd it with "pretty things' just relevant information on the product and the logo. keep it minimal and relaxing on the eyes.

Photoshopping the Bamboo.

I initially cut out the bamboo using the "lasso"tool and inverse the selection then deleted the background. 

 Once i have done that i highlited the plant again and filled the section with the blue of my choice. i then chose the blending option overlay which used then tones from the original bamboo and made them blue

Grow your own

Grown your own packaging are a relatively new things from my understanding. Chineas bamboo is a symbol of zen so i decided to use this for my packing of a plant. here are a few photos i took of the bamboo. 

Which Direction Next?

I chose what products i would like to look at packaging for each series and i was stuck on which one was the best one to actually make. i already looked into making the home products and had them mapped out. I spoke to John about it and he was impressed with the different products but he like the work sector the most.
he also said i should look into developing the iphone app for the commuting as it is a nice and solid idea.

Candle Packaging Model

Here is my paper model. very simple one is slightly longer and less wide than the other so they can easily sit on the top. 

i will now use a thicker stock and see if i can still make it work. 

Here i used mount card but the edges don't look very appealing as they have to be scorn quite deeply. 

it works very well and fits a large candle perfectly i am very happy with the outcome of this packaging.
