i then added small orange line underneath the lettering which i chose orange because that and the purple work very well together. 
I then added a 2nd gradient over the top which was a black to see through. this meant i was able to keep the nice purple effect but keep it light in the centre also.
I then did the same process for a male and then put them together. the colours i feel are a bit to strong.
